So far I like what I read in The Alchemist. I feel that the plot is very easy to follow and I find that the book has me bored. May be considered bad because it is written in a very simplistic and does not seem a very profound book. The sentences are short and the vocabulary is not very advanced. At the same time, the characters are not well developed, for example, while the pastor is the main character, the author does not tell us much of his personality other than that is a pastor who likes to travel and pursue his dreams.
Despite these characteristics that can make a book is bad, I can not deny that I'm enjoying it a lot. After reading so many complicated books for my literature classes, I feel very refreshing to reada book like this from time to time. Although the idea of "follow your dreams" is a very typical in the literature and in movies, always something that leaves me feeling in a positive way. It's like watching romantic comedies are typical stories ... but I always leave feeling happy. I have not finished the book, then do not know if James will find so treasure, but I hope it is a book that I leave with good feelings and not disappointed.
